Privacy Policy

Note: This is a working draft of our privacy policy generated for launch purposes. It covers the key areas required for Shopify app store submission and GDPR basics. We recommend having these documents reviewed by a legal professional. For now, they are functional and cover the essential bases.

1. Introduction

AgenticLens ("we," "our," or "us") operates the AgenticLens Shopify application and the website at agenticlens.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application and website.

By installing the AgenticLens app or using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. What Data We Collect

Shopify Store Information

When you install AgenticLens, we receive your store name, store URL, and store owner email address through Shopify's OAuth authentication process.

Product Data

We access product data from your Shopify store via the Shopify Admin API, including: product titles, descriptions, tags, metafields, images, variant information, product type, and vendor. This data is read from Shopify on demand and is not permanently stored in its raw form.

App-Generated Data

We generate and store data as part of providing our service, including: agentic readiness scores, AI-optimized product content, optimization history, and your preferences and settings within the app.

Billing Information

Your plan selection and subscription status are managed entirely through Shopify's billing system. We do not collect or store credit card details or other payment information directly.

Usage Data

We collect usage information such as the number of products scored, number of optimizations performed, and feature usage patterns to enforce plan limits and improve the service.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • AI-Powered Analysis: Product data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered scoring and optimization analysis. This data is sent securely and is not used to train AI models.
  • Service Delivery: Scores and optimization results are stored in our database to provide the service and allow you to review and manage your optimizations.
  • Account Management: Store and contact information is used for account management, support, and service communications.
  • Plan Enforcement: Usage data is used to enforce plan limits and improve the service.
  • No Data Sales: We do not sell, rent, or share merchant data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

Shopify

AgenticLens operates as a Shopify application. Our integration with Shopify for platform functionality and billing is governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy.

Anthropic Claude API

We use Anthropic's Claude API for AI analysis of product data for scoring and optimization. Product data sent to Claude is processed under Anthropic's API data usage policy, which states that API inputs are not used for model training.

Hosting Provider

We use standard web hosting infrastructure to deliver our service. Our hosting providers process data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection agreements.

5. Data Retention

  • App-generated data (scores, optimizations, settings) is retained for as long as the app is installed on your Shopify store.
  • When a merchant uninstalls the app, we delete all associated data within 30 days.
  • We comply with Shopify's mandatory data deletion webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact) and process these requests promptly.

6. Data Security

  • All data transmitted between the app and Shopify is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
  • All data transmitted to the Claude API is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
  • Database access is restricted and secured with appropriate access controls.
  • We do not store Shopify API access tokens beyond what is required for active app functionality.

7. Your Rights

  • Data Access: You can request a copy of all data we store about your shop by contacting us at support@agenticlens.io.
  • Data Deletion: You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support.
  • Uninstallation: You can uninstall the app at any time through your Shopify admin, which triggers automatic data deletion within 30 days.

8. Cookies

The AgenticLens app operates within the Shopify admin embedded iframe and does not set cookies on merchant storefronts.

The landing page at agenticlens.io does not currently use cookies. If we add analytics tools such as Google Analytics in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.

9. GDPR and International Compliance

We process data in accordance with GDPR requirements. For EU merchants, the legal basis for processing is contractual necessity — providing the service you installed and agreed to use.

Merchants can contact support@agenticlens.io for any data-related requests, including access, rectification, erasure, or data portability.

10. Children's Privacy

AgenticLens is a business tool designed for Shopify merchants and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you via email to the store owner address associated with your account.
