Terms of Service

Note: This is a working draft of our terms of service generated for launch purposes. It covers the key areas required for Shopify app store submission. We recommend having these documents reviewed by a legal professional. For now, they are functional and cover the essential bases.

1. Service Description

AgenticLens ("we," "our," or "us") is a Shopify application that scores and optimizes product catalog data for AI shopping agent discoverability. The service includes AI-powered analysis, scoring, and content optimization suggestions.

AI-generated content is provided as suggestions. The merchant reviews and approves all changes before they are published to their store. By using AgenticLens, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Account and Access

  • Access to AgenticLens requires an active Shopify store and installation through the Shopify App Store.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify account and any actions taken through it.
  • Each Shopify store is limited to one AgenticLens app installation.

3. Plans and Billing

  • Free Plan: Includes 10 product scores at no cost.
  • Paid Plans: Growth, Pro, and Enterprise plans are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system.
  • All charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice via email to the store owner.

4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AgenticLens uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to generate product optimization suggestions. Please be aware of the following:

  • AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, inferred information, or suggestions that don't perfectly match your products.
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before publishing it to your store.
  • AgenticLens is not liable for any consequences of publishing AI-generated content without adequate review.
  • Inferred attributes (marked with square brackets in Aggressive mode) are clearly identified and must be verified by you before publishing.

5. Product Data and Changes

  • AgenticLens only modifies product data when explicitly approved by you through the publish action.
  • You can revert changes using Shopify's built-in version history.
  • AgenticLens does not modify pricing, inventory, images, or any data outside of titles, descriptions, tags, metafields, and image alt text.
  • We are not responsible for any impact on sales, search rankings, or store performance resulting from product data changes you have approved and published.

6. Intellectual Property

  • You retain full ownership of your product data and any published optimizations.
  • AI-generated suggestions become your property once published to your store.
  • AgenticLens retains the right to use anonymized and aggregated usage data to improve the service. This data cannot be used to identify individual merchants or their products.

7. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service depends on third-party APIs (Shopify, Anthropic) which may experience downtime outside our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

AgenticLens is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the use of AgenticLens is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, sales, or business opportunities.

9. Termination

  • You may terminate your use of AgenticLens at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin or cancelling your subscription.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, abuse of the service, or non-payment.
  • Upon termination, data deletion follows our Privacy Policy — all associated data is deleted within 30 days.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any changes with at least 30 days notice via email to the store owner address associated with your account. Continued use of AgenticLens after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
